As we get into the final months of the year, the clock seems to go at warp speed. With shrinking daylight hours and the holidays fast approaching, it feels like we have a lot more to do—and fewer frantic hours to squeeze everything into. But don’t worry. The Gem team has been hard at work behind the scenes to help you maximize what you can accomplish in your limited time.

We’ll start with a quick summary and then do a deeper dive and share additional resources in case you want to learn more.

The TL;DR version

This month’s updates are all about stronger controls and faster workflows. We’ve made it easier to standardize how teams work in Gem ATS while cutting clicks across everyday tasks in Gem.

Key highlights:

  • Gem ATS: Job compensation fields

  • Gem ATS: Enhanced conditional offer sections

  • Gem ATS: Productivity enhancements

  • Other key updates: Across AI Sourcing, CRM, Scheduling, and Gem ATS

Make pay transparency simple and consistent with job compensation fields

A lack of clarity around compensation can be confusing and offputting for candidates—and it can also create inequities within your existing workforce. But there’s a simple solution: Organizations that embrace pay transparency see a 20% reduction in pay disparities

And it’s easier than ever to make pay transparency simple and consistent in Gem ATS. Admins can now set compensation fields to required or hidden in a new Compensation fields card under Admin Settings > Gem ATS > Jobs—so ranges show up on job posts without the back-and-forth.

Get to offer acceptance faster with enhanced conditional offer sections

Every minute counts when you’re ready to extend an offer to a standout candidate. And you don’t want to miss an opportunity because it took too long to draft your offer letter.

Even if you’re creating more complex offers with additional compensation options (for sales roles, for example), you can still write cleaner, smarter offers than ever with Gem ATS.

You can now conditionally create offer sections based on text, number, or currency offer fields—e.g., show signing bonus language only when the amount is greater than $0. Read more about creating conditional offers in Gem ATS, and watch the video below to see it in action.

Supercharge routine tasks

Sometimes you simply need assistance automating and accelerating the tasks you do every day. Get more done faster with these latest updates in Gem ATS:

  • Automatically CC the hiring team in candidate emails: When creating generic email templates, you can now CC the Recruiter, Coordinator, Sourcer, and/or Hiring Manager on the application. For candidates with multiple applications, we’ll use the roles tied to the application shown in the tab header.

  • Long text custom fields: Capture richer context on jobs, offers, openings, and applications.

  • Enhancements to job access rules: Build access rules faster with select-all and search for departments/locations.

  • Automatic currency settings based on location: When you select a location on a job, opening, or offer, Gem will automatically set the currency. We’ll reference the first location listed if a job or opening has multiple locations, and we’ll never overwrite the currency type if the field already has a numeric value.

Other key updates

AI Sourcing:

  • Save talent insights to PDF: Export pool snapshots (titles, companies, skills + AI overview) and easily share with hiring teams.

Platform:

  • Expanded audit logs: See more events across jobs, job boards/posts, offers, SAML, team settings, and approval processes for better compliance and investigations.

  • Candidate custom fields in Prospect Search: Search via ATS candidate custom fields inside Gem. This feature is now  live for Greenhouse, Workday, SuccessFactors, and iCIMS teams.

Gem ATS:

  • Find candidates on the go: You can now search for any candidate on the mobile site.

  • Notes for approvers: Fix typos or add context after you’ve sent an approval request (jobs, openings, offers). An added bonus: Approvers won’t be re-notified, so you can correct mistakes quietly.

Gem Scheduling:

  • Search by Job Requisition IDs: Requisition IDs now appear alongside job names in scheduling views like the Scheduling Queue or Job Settings, so you can find and search for jobs faster.

We know every second counts so we’ll leave you here for now. But don’t worry—we’ll be back again soon to show you even more ways Gem can save you time and simplify your most tedious tasks!
