Introducing GeMCP
Getting answers to your most pressing recruiting questions shouldn’t feel hard. GeMCP fixes that. It connects Gem to Claude, ChatGPT, and the AI tools your team already uses, so recruiters can ask questions, analyze data, and create meaningful insights without ever leaving their chat.
Here's a first look at GeMCP, and how our early customers are already putting it to work.
If you've used Claude, ChatGPT, or another AI tool for work, you've probably done at least one of these: copy a scorecard into your chat, upload a CSV of your pipeline, or paste in a screenshot of a dashboard that you want to get more insight on. It works, but it's a lot of manual effort for something that should be simple.
GeMCP fixes that. It's Gem's implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that securely connects Gem to the AI tools your team already uses. Instead of manually providing context, your AI can access the recruiting data you already have permission to use. This includes things like candidates, pipelines, scorecards, outreach activity, and analytics across your funnel. And what this ultimately means is less time gathering information and more time making hiring decisions.
Over the past several weeks, a group of beta customers has been putting GeMCP to work, and as always, it’s been impressive to see the output from our most forward-thinking teams. Here's a peek at how they're already using GeMCP.
Get recruiting answers in seconds
Instead of digging through dashboards or waiting for someone to build a report, simply ask a question in plain language.
- "What's the status of the Product Designer search?"
- "Which candidates are pending my review right now?"
- "How many candidates are we interviewing next week?"
That last one is a favorite among hiring managers and executives, who get a straight answer without ever logging into Gem. Instead of searching for information, your team can spend more time acting on it.

You might be using your agent to ask things like, 'I have this one hiring manager who's rejecting everybody — why?' And it can go look at the scorecards, the resumes of who advanced versus got rejected, compare that against the job description, and come back with the trends it found.
Turn hiring data into insights
Recruiting teams collect enormous amounts of data, but answering complex questions often requires hours of manual analysis — or doesn't happen at all. With GeMCP, you can analyze months of recruiting activity with a single prompt. One beta customer, Linktree, used GeMCP to evaluate whether their engineering interview process was assessing candidates consistently by reviewing 12 months of interview scorecards and pass-through rates. It's the kind of report that would otherwise eat a RecOps analyst's entire afternoon.
I was finally able to dive into the passthrough rates for our interview questions from scorecards over the last 12 months and understand the trends — this was a massive unlock for us. This has been an ask for months.
Create reports your stakeholders actually use
Not every stakeholder needs the same recruiting dashboard. With GeMCP, teams can create tailored views and reports for executives, hiring managers, and recruiting leaders using the AI tools they already work in. The use cases range from customizing the colors in SLA reports to building custom dashboards, which Genius AI has been doing to bring clarity to their executive searches.

It's been great to create custom dashboards in Claude that we share with leaders and tweak to showcase only the most important data for certain pipelines. We stood this up for leadership searches, and it looks sleeker than the pre-set dashboards in Gem. It also allows us to simplify what we share with stakeholders (and add qualitative call-outs in the dashboard as well).
GeMCP only shows what you can already see in Gem
AI should make recruiting easier, not create new security concerns. GeMCP respects the same permissions and access controls already configured in Gem. Recruiters only see recruiter-level data. Hiring managers only see what they're already authorized to access. Talent leaders continue to have the visibility they've always had. There's no separate permission model to manage and no need to duplicate recruiting data across systems. Your team can confidently bring trusted recruiting data into AI while maintaining the governance and security your organization expects.
