Every TA team puts their own unique fingerprint on the way they work. And this is why rigid, “one-size-fits-all” software ends up ignored and collecting virtual dust. At Gem, we get it — we’ve designed our platform to adapt to the way your recruiting team works. And this month we’ve got some exciting updates that will help you accelerate and enhance your existing processes.
We’ll start with a high-level overview and then dig in with more details and share all the ways that you can learn more.
The TL;DR version
Our September updates are focused on giving you the flexibility to customize Gem to match exactly how you move candidates through your process.
Key highlights:
Gem ATS: Conditional offer sections, take-home assignments, and more
Gem Scheduling: Now unified with Gem & simpler than ever
Gem Platform: Audit logs and enhanced enterprise user management
Other key updates: Across Gem ATS and integrations
Customize Gem ATS to match how your team works with conditional offer sections, take-home assignments, and more
When it comes to your ATS, you want to work smarter, not harder. And these latest updates in Gem ATS make your complex hiring workflows simpler:
Conditional offer sections: Replace dozens of separate templates with a few adaptive ones that automatically show relevant content based on location, department, job level, or custom offer fields. Learn more about conditional offer sections.
Take-home assignments: Add assignments to your interview plan or send ad-hoc assignments per candidate with built-in submission tracking and scorecard reviews.
Enhanced customization: Set reapproval notifications based on custom field updates, customize user permissions for job statuses and openings, and create department access rules for automatic job access.
Simplify and spend less time on admin tasks with Gem Scheduling
If you ever feel like you’re spending way too much of your day on thankless administrative tasks like scheduling, your calendar is about to free up! Gem Scheduling is now fully integrated with the rest of Gem, meaning you can enjoy simplified scheduling workflows. Now you can:
Send availability requests and self-scheduling links in just a couple clicks
Select schedule options with an intuitive Google Calendar-style view
Fully customize interviewer calendar events
Stay on top of next steps with detailed scheduling statuses in Talent Pipeline
And do it all with Gem’s intuitive interface
Available for all Gem ATS customers, and in early access with customers on Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday ATS. Check out our getting started guide or watch our latest Demo Day webinar to learn more.
Enterprise customers can enjoy peace of mind with enhanced security features
We know that our enterprise customers have specific requirements when it comes to security and compliance. Keep your recruiting data secure and manage users efficiently with our latest updates.
Audit logs: All teams now have access to audit logs tracking login attempts, user changes, session times, role assignments, and API key activity for security compliance. Reach out to your Gem Customer Success manager to learn more.
SCIM user management: Automatically provision and de-provision users directly from your Identity Provider, including Okta, Microsoft Active Directory, and Ping Federate. Available for select Gem Enterprise customers. Contact your Gem Customer Success Manager to learn more.
Other key updates
We have even more updates for Gem ATS that will boost your TA team’s efficiency and improve your candidate experience.
Gem ATS
Candidate profiles on mobile: Access candidate profiles, resumes, activity feeds, and applications from your phone with a mobile-optimized experience.
PDF download for offer packets: Export complete signed offer packets, including candidate information and resumes for ATS uploads or record-keeping. Team admins can download an offer packet by going to the Candidate Profile > Application > Offer > Download offer packet.
Rating scales and hyperlinks in ATS questions: Enhance your application questions, scorecards, and referrals with customizable rating scales and hyperlinks. Head over to Gem > Templates > Jobs & applications > Application questions to get started.
Auto-merge for inbound applications: When candidates reapply to jobs, Gem will automatically merge active applications while preserving original data such as previous attachments and referral questions.
Gmail integration enhancement: View complete email history and content in candidate activity feeds, including messages sent outside of Gem, with privacy controls for individual emails. Navigate to Settings > General > Additional Settings > Allow my full email previews to turn this on.
Docusign integration enhancement: Send additional documents like benefits information alongside offer letters, directly at the offer stage or through offer templates. Learn more about our Docusign integration.
We’ll be back again soon with even more updates to help you get the most out of Gem and elevate your hiring practices. See you next month!
