You can tell that the end of the year is nearly here—holiday parties are in full swing, every product you’ve used even once over the past year is packaging up your data as a “2025 Wrapped,” and your diet is now approximately 99% cheese. What a time to be alive!
But before 2025 is well and truly over, we wanted to squeeze in a few more exciting updates. That’s right—it’s time for a new round of G2 awards.
Every quarter, G2 announces their business software award winners based on millions of real customer ratings and reviews.
For Gem, it was another impressive sweep. We earned 36 badges overall and were named a leader in the following categories:
ATS: Overall, Enterprise, Mid-Market
Recruiting automation: Overall, Enterprise, Mid-Market, Small Business
CRM: Overall, Enterprise, Mid-Market
Talent Intelligence: Overall, Enterprise, Mid-Market
Diversity recruiting: Overall, Mid-Market
Let’s take a closer look at each category and hear from some of our customers directly!
Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Gem customers love the fact that they can eliminate the need for multiple recruiting tools with one AI-powered platform that does it all. As one SMB customer writes on G2, “Gem has transformed our recruitment process! Its intuitive interface and automation features save us time and effort.” When it comes to our ATS in particular, Gem accelerates sourcing, outreach, application review, and interviewing.
“We're looking at modernizing our talent stack. Before moving over to Gem, we had an ATS, an SMS platform, and a reporting platform. Gem replaces all three of those while adding additional capabilities including multi-stage campaigns, AI sourcing, a robust CRM, SMS messaging, scheduling, contact information, and native reporting.” – Mike Walsh, Vice President of Talent Acquisition, Rex
Recruiting Automation
Our 2026 Recruiting Benchmarks report reveals the painful reality of recruiting today: Recruiters are processing 93% more applications per recruiter than in 2021, yet many of them are doing it with leaner teams than ever.
And this is where the right technology can be a game-changer: Gem drives recruiter productivity with automation solutions for sourcing and outreach, inbound app review, and scheduling, helping our customers source up to five times faster. One enterprise customer on G2 puts it this way: “The automated follow-ups save so much time, and being able to track every touch point in one place has made our outreach way more consistent and effective. It integrates seamlessly with our ATS and email, so we never miss a beat.”
“[Gem] streamlines sourcing and outreach by offering powerful automation, seamless integrations, and robust analytics, making recruiting faster, smarter, and more efficient.” – Mid-market customer review on G2
Candidate Relationship Management (CRM)
What’s the most effective sourcing strategy? While job boards and marketing channels generate roughly 90% of all applications, they only account for about half of all hires. Channels like direct sourcing, on the other hand, deliver 11% of hires from just 2.6% of applications. The key takeaway: Quality talent is often found through deliberate relationship-driven approaches.
This is why our customers love how Gem’s Recruiting CRM allows them to discover, nurture, and engage talent across their entire networks. One mid-market customer on G2 writes, “What I like best about Gem is its ability to centralize and streamline the entire sourcing and outreach process. The most helpful aspect is how it tracks candidate engagement and follow-ups in one place, reducing manual tasks and improving response rates.” Gem also makes it easy to search and re-engage candidates in your ATS, saving time and accelerating future searches.
Gem customer Growth by Design Talent has reduced their time-to-fill by 25% by combining AI sourcing with curated projects. They can instantly surface candidates from relevant projects, people who are tagged as open to relocation, and past finalists from similar searches.
"Why would you start from zero versus asking, ‘what candidates matriculated the furthest? What candidates got to the onsite interview from these past searches?’ Boom, pull them over." – Adam Ward, Founding Partner at Growth by Design Talent
Talent Intelligence
G2 defines talent intelligence software as any tool that employs AI frameworks or features to assist with talent acquisition or management processes.
Gem’s AI solutions—AI Sourcing, AI Inbound Ranking, and AI Talent Rediscovery—help recruiters find better candidate matches through AI-powered features, while still leaving all the hiring decisions in your hands. And we’ve recently announced a series of major updates, including AI Sourcing and AI Application Review agents—learn more about what you can achieve with these tools here.
One customer on G2 explains how Gem’s AI features are turbocharging recruiting: “The automatic AI interview feature is particularly impressive, as it streamlines candidate interactions. As a senior recruiter, I see it as a great addition for companies to save time and enhance efficiency when moving through candidates.”
Gem customer Workiva harnessed the power of Gem’s AI application Review Agents to transform their screening workflow and saw an immediate, measurable impact. Recruiters are saving approximately ten hours per week on applicant screening and the team reduced the time from application to interview by three days.
"We see such an awesome win with screening & scheduling because Gem and Workday communicate. The partnership is really showing up. The way Workday is responding to Gem is much better than what I've seen with other technology." – Melissa Farmer, Manager of Talent Operations and Programs
Diversity Recruiting
Customers who are committed to meeting diversity, equity, and inclusion goals turn to Gem to track outreach data, identify potential biases, experiment with different links and subject lines, and craft nurture campaigns that build relationships and trust with candidates from underrepresented backgrounds.
“I needed Gem’s Pipeline Analytics because I needed to know why we weren’t hiring more women engineers. Was it a problem in our interview process? Because if so, we would fix that parity issue as a first step. With Gem, I’ve proven and been able to communicate that our interview process isn’t very biased. That was invaluable because it allowed us to dispense with one speculation and move on to others.” – Angela Miller, Senior Director of Global Talent Acquisition and Ops, Pure Storage
A big thank you to all the Gem customers who took the time to rate and review us on G2—especially given all the challenges of being a TA pro these days! Your feedback is what motivates us to keep going and continue making improvements.
