5 Reasons to Attend Gem’s Talent Summit

Gem’s Talent Summit 2021 is taking place on September 15, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Talent Summit is the virtual conference that’s bringing together industry leaders from top companies in order to reflect on last year’s learnings, share best practices uncovered as the ground shifted beneath us, and discover how leading talent orgs are building high-performing teams in 2021—as quite a few things have changed “for good,” and outdated practices need to be reimagined.
Our theme this year is “Hiring. Reimagined”—a theme that only seemed right given the massive changes talent acquisition teams have experienced in the last 18 months. We’ve watched as teams pivoted, re-evaluated, pivoted again, and experienced the whiplash of transitioning from layoffs and hiring freezes to one of the most competitive hiring markets we’ve seen in years. Add to that a heightened awareness and valuing of DEI, a range of preferences and expectations around “return to work,” and the anticipated “Great Resignation,” and recruitment has a lot to pay attention to—and to anticipate.
The best anticipation strategy we can imagine is deep conversations with our peers, which is among the things we’re most excited about at Gem: the opportunity to learn from our customers, and from some of the most remarkable professionals in our industry. As for you? We expect that Talent Summit has a lot to offer. Here are our top 5 reasons why we think you should join us this year:
1. Learn how industry leaders from companies like Shopify, CreditKarma, Cisco Meraki, Box, and more are reimagining their talent initiatives and practices
Last year we offered 23 speakers over 16 sessions, which covered everything from how to operationalize a diversity sourcing strategy, to how to strengthen relationships with hiring managers in a world of remote hiring, to the key reports that every talent leader needs. This year, once again, we’ll be offering two content tracks—one for sourcers, recruiters, and practitioners; the other for talent leaders, ops, and executives—so you can expect to find content and learning opportunities that suit your needs, no matter where you sit in relationship to the TA function.
2. Get the opportunity to network and learn from industry peers with roundtables and 1:1 meetings
This won’t be your average webinar! We’ll have plenty of networking opportunities available for you beyond our how-to sessions. Connect with peers and industry leaders to discuss everything from how you’re approaching diversity sourcing, to what solutions you’re using to streamline tasks and forecast hiring, to what virtual hiring has looked like—and might continue to look like—for your organization. Great minds will meet great minds in these conversations.
3. Hear from our notable keynote speakers
We’re still finalizing the agenda on our keynotes; but if 2021 is anything like 2020 was, it’s going to be an outstanding lineup. Last year we were honored to be joined by Deepa Subramaniam, Chief Product & Digital Officer at the ACLU, and Reid Hoffman, Partner at Greylock and Co-Founder of LinkedIn, for keynote talks. And if you register now, you’ll be the first to know who’s taking the virtual stage at Talent Summit 2021.
4. See live demos at our sponsor booths
This year’s sponsors include Codility, Lever, SmartRecruiters, SeekOut, and Guide. Get your questions about these solutions answered in real-time… along with the chance to win prizes and swag!
5. Learn about the latest product updates from Gem to elevate your productivity and impact
We’ve been hard at work on the product side this year, and updates include everything from an events module, to a talent community module, to executive dashboards, to SMS support, to data refresh, and more! Come learn from our product team how we’re constantly iterating on a product to suit your org’s needs—perhaps especially in the midst of the great hiring surge of this year.
